RESOLUTION NO, 105 -1988
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SENATE BILL 616
CREATING THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS
AND REQUESTING THE MONROE COUNTY DELEGATION
TO THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO USE THEIR BEST
OFFICES IN SEEKING PASSAGE OF SAID ,BILL,
WHEREAS, there is presently pending before the Florida
Legislature Senate Bill 616 concerning the creation of a Depart-
ment of Veterans Affairs, and
WHEREAS, this matter is of great concern to the veterans and
citizens of Monroe County, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, desires to wholeheartedly support the passage of this
bill, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1, That said Commission does hereby wholeheartedly endorse
and support Senate Bill 616, as said bill provides for the
creation ~~ a Department of Veterans Affairs,
2, That said Commission hereby requests that the Monroe

county delegation to the Florida Legislature support this bill

and use their best offices to seek passage of said bill,

That the Clerk of said Board is hereby directed to
forward certified copies of this resolution to the Monroe County
delegation to the Florida Legislature.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 1st day of March, A,D. 1988,
