Resolution 172-1988 ~ Monroe County Commission RESOLUTION NO. 172-1988 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS- SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS TO CONDUCT A REFERENDUM ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 8, 1988, FOR THE LEVY OF AN ADDITIONAL ONE CENT SALES TAX FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING CAPITAL INFRASTRUCTURE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the Honorable Peter Ilchuk, Supervisor of Elections be, and is hereby requested at the general election of November 8, 1988, to place on the ballot the question described in Section 2 of this Resolution within the following areas, to-wit: All incorporated and unincorporated areas of Monroe County, Florida Section 2. The referendum proposal to be voted upon by the electors of said area shall be in substantially the following form: Additional One Cent Sales Tax Within All of Monroe County. Should there be levied, for a period of five years within the unincorporated areas of Monroe County, Florida, and the cities of Layton, Key Colony Beach and Key West, an additional one cent sales tax which shall be used for the construction or reconstruction of capital facilities such as: recreational facilities, courthouses, parking, offices, landfills, roads, bridges, airport improve- ments, libraries, piers, auditoriums, riprap/seawalls, storm sewers, and police/fire facilities?
