~ LATE ETHEALINDA STRICKER.
WHEREAS, Ethealinda "Ethea" Stricker, a native and lifetime
resident of Key West, died on the June 27, 1994, at the age of
96, and
WHEREAS, in 1916, Mrs. Stricker started teaching in a
one-room school on No Name Key, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Stricker, who retired in 1958 after 33 years
of teaching, also taught at Truman School and Harris School, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Stricker was president and/or chairman of
numerous associations, clubs and committees, and she was
instrumental in organizing the Retired Teachers Organization, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Stricker was the oldest member in age and in
service of the Key West Women's Club, being a member since 1926,
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County
recognize the late Ethealinda Stricker
service and her lifetime dedication
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board hereby adopts this
Resolution as evidence of its regret and mourning for the passing
of the late Ethealinda Stricker and in recognition of her
extensive services on behalf of the people of Key West and Monroe
County, Florida, and hereby directs the County Clerk to send a
copy of this resolution to her family.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on
the 17th day of August , 1994.
