RESOLUTION NO. 251-1988
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ENCOURAG-
ING THE POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF BOOT KEY BY A
COMB INATION OF THE FLORIDA KEYS LAND TRUST
AND THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, AND
AGREEING THAT IF SAID KEY IS ACQUIRED, THAT
THE BOARD WILL NEGOTIATE WITH SAID AGENCIES
FOR THE COUNTY TO ASSUME CERTAIN MAINTENANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES THEREFOR.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. The Board hereby encourages the possible acquisition of
Boot Key by a combination of the Florida Keys Land Trust and the
Department of Natural Resources.
2. That if Boot Key is acquired by said agencies, the Board
hereby agrees that it will negotiate with them for the County to
assume certain maintenance responsibilities therefor.
3. The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the Florida Keys Land Trust
and the Department of Natural Resources.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 21st day of June, A.D. 1988.
