RESOLUTION NO. 538_1988
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZ-
ING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN EMPLOYMENT
AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, AND GARTH C. COLLER.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
That the Mayor/Chairman of said Board is hereby authorized
to execute an Employment Agreement by and between Monroe County,
Florida, and Garth C. Coller, a copy of same being attached
hereto, for the purpose of employing the said Garth C. Coller as
an Assistant County Attorney.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 18th day of October, A.D. 1988.

THIS EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT entered into on this
day of
, 1988, by and between Monroe County, Florida, a
political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter
referred to as "County" and GARTH C. COLLER, hereinafter referred
to as "Employee".
IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual covenants, promises, and
representatives contained herein, the parties agree as follows:
1. The County hereby employs, engages and hires the
Employee, and Employee accepts such employment, as an Assistant
County Attorney for Monroe County, at the salary of $35,000.00
per year.
2. This employment shall commence October 17, 1988, and
shall continue with the terms of this agreement and the Monroe
County Employment Policies and Procedures.
3. The Employee shall be on probation for the first year
of employment, and after one year of satisfactory employment,
then the Employee shall be eligible for Career Service status as
defined in Section 2-38 of the Monroe County Code.
4. Employee shall be considered a full-time employee, and
shall be eligible for benefits as are received from time to time
by other County employees, including, but not limited to hospi-
talization, life insurance, retirement, holidays, and annual
leave.

5. Employee shall perform such services of a legal nature
as shall be required of him by the County Attorney in the opera-
tion of the legal department of the County and shall be subject
to the direct control and supervision of the County Attorney.
Employee shall not maintain a private practice of law while
employed by the County, nor act as legal advisor to any individu-
al, organization or corporation in a private capacity.
6. Employee shall be entitled to reimbursement for travel
and per diem expenses as are provided other County employees, for
authorized travel in connection with this employment, whether
within or outside of Monroe County, Florida.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
agreement the day and year first above written.
