RESOLUTION NO. 573 -1988
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZ-
ING THE MAYOR/CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD TO
EXECUTE A LOAN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, AND THE KEY WEST ART & HISTORICAL
SOCIETY, CONCERNING TWO (2) MARIO SANCHEZ
WOOD CARVINGS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Mayor/Chairman of the Board is
hereby authorized to execute a Loan Agreement between the Board
of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, and the Key
West Art & Historical Society, a copy of same being attached
hereto, concerning two (2) Mario Sanchez wood carvings.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held

LOA~ AGREEMENT
Agreement, made this day of , 1988, between
the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMlSSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA (the
"Board") and the KEY WEST ART & HISTORICAL SOCIETY (the
"Society")
1. This agreement covers two (2) Mario Sanchez wood
carvings to be loaned by the Board to the Society.
2. The term of this agreement is the six-month period
beginning on
1989.
3. This agreement may be prematurely terminated by either
party, but if the Board is the terminating party, the Society
shall he given thirty (30) days after notice within which to
return the carvings.
4. The Society shall display the carvings properly in its
art gallery, known as the East Martello Museum, at a temperature
of 700 Fahrenheit and a humidity of 55%. The Society assumes all
risks of loss and damage to the carvings and shall return them to
the Board in the same appearance and condition as when received.
5. During the term of this agreement, the carvings shall
not be removed from the East Martello Museum without the Board's

6. At all times during the Society's business hours, the
Board or its designated representative shall have the right to
enter the Museum for the purpose of inspecting the carvings.
7. The Society shall obtain and maintain at all times
during the term of this agreement fire, flood, vandalism,
malicious mischief, burglary and theft insurance, naming the
Board as the beneficiary, in the amount of $10,000 per carving.
Evidence satisfactory to the Board that such insurance 1s 1n
effect shall be furnished to the Board within ten (10) days after
the effective date of this agreement. Not withstanding anything
contained in Paragraph 3 above, failure to provide such evidence
shall cause this agreement to be void and shall entitle the Board
to the immediate return of the carvings.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, each party has caused this agreement to
be executed on the date indicated above.
