RESOLUTION NO. 639-1988
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE KEY WEST AND MONROE
COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITIES TO UTILIZE ALL
AVAILABLE H. U.D. RENTAL REHABILITATION GRANTS TO
CREATE AN AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT AT THE
TRUMAN SCHOOL COMPLEX
WHEREAS, there exists a critical affordable housing shortage
in both the City of Key West and Monroe County, and
WHEREAS, the R.T.S. Corporation has agreed to rehabilitate
the Truman School for an affordable housing project contingent
upon a negotiated agreement with Monroe County, and
WHEREAS, both the Key West and Monroe County Housing
Authorities have unused Rental Rehabilitation grants from the
Department of Housing and Urban Development, and
WHEREAS, the H.U.D. rental Rehabilitation Grants require
developer to maintain the affordability status of housing
projects for a specific period of time,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that both the Key West and Monroe
County Housing Authorities are requested to utilize all available
and unused H.U.D. Rental Rehabilitation Grants for the Truman
School Affordable Housing Project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 22nd day of November, A.D. 1988.
