RESOLUTION NO. 342-1994
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN
RECOGNITION OF THE LATE WILLIAM KROLL.
WHEREAS, William Kroll, a "pioneer" in modem tourism, has passed away at the age of
89,and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kroll, who founded the Conch Train and ran it throughout Key West for
14 years, was instrumental in promoting Key West worldwide, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kroll rehabilitated the Key West Aquarium, which he operated until
1956, and
WHEREAS, the Key West Chamber of Commerce made Mr. Kroll a life member for his
service to the community, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to recognize the late William
Kroll for his extensive public service and his vast dedication to his community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1.
The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret and
mourning for the passing of the late William Kroll and in recognition of his extensive dedication
and vast public service to the people of Key West and Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2.
The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this Resolution
to Mr. Kroll's surviving family members to express the Board's sorrow.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 20th day of October, 1994.
