Resolution 113-1987 Monroe County ~ommission RESOLUTION NO. 113-1987 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO IMPOSE AN ADDITIONAL ONE CENT TOURIST IMPACT TAX IN MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING THAT CERTAIN ITEMS CON- TAINED IN THE PREVIOUS ENACTMENT BE REMOVED AND REQUESTING THE HONORABLE RON SAUNDERS AND THE HONORABLE LARRY PLUMMER TO SPONSOR SAID LEGISLATION. WHEREAS, an additional one cent tourist impact tax was enacted by the 1986 Legislature for Monroe County, Florida, and WHEREAS, certain items were included in the 1986 enactment which possibly caused many electors to vote against said measure, and WHEREAS, the Mayor and County Commission of Monroe County, Florida, deem that said one cent additional tourist impact tax should be levied by legislation in the upcoming 1987 Legislature, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNTY COMMISSION OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: 1. An additional one cent tourist impact tax be levied in Monroe County, Florida, and the City of Key West, Florida. 2. That eating establishments and attractions be omitted and exempt from this additional one cent tax. 3. That said tax become effective sixty (60) days after its enactment and passage by the Legislature. 4. That the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Senator Larry Plummer and Representative Ron Saunders. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on the 17th day of February, A.D. 1987.
