RESOLUTION NO. 002-1985
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR MAYOR
PRO-TEM OF MONROE COUNTY TO EXECUTE AND
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT FUNDS TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR
ASSISTANCE IN THE IMPLEMENTION OF MONROE
COUNTY'S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR
THE TARGET AREA OF HIBISCUS PARK FOR $650,000
IN THE HOUSING CATEGORY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, recognizes the urgent need for Federal assistance in the
implementation of its proposed Community Development Program for
the target area of Hibiscus Park, and
WHEREAS, such Federal assistance is available from the
United State Department of Housing and Urban Development in the
form of Block Grant Funds, and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Community
Affairs is the agency authorized to administer said Block Grant
Funds program, and
WHEREAS, an official of Monroe County, Florida, must be
authorized to submit applications for such funds to the State of
Florida Department of Community Affairs, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor or the Mayor Pro-Tern of Monroe
County, Florida, as the Chief Elected Official, as required by
the Department of Community Affairs, is hereby authorized to
execute and submit an application to the Department of Community
Affairs for Block Grant Funds under the Small Cities Housing
Category Program for a $650,000 project for the County's
designated Community Development Target Area of Hibiscus Park,
near Mile Marker 101~ on U.S.1.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption by the Commission and execution by the Presiding Officer
and the Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the ~oard of County Commissioners of
Monroe County at a Special meeting held in Key West, Florida on
the 7th day of January, 1985.
