RESOLUTION NO. 053 -1985
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHOR-
IZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND THE COUNTY
ADMINISTRATOR TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR
$6,483.00 IN COMMUNITY SERVICE BLOCK GRANT
FUNDS TO PROVIDE MEDICAL SERVICES TO LOW
INCOME PERSONS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, is a body corporate and politic existing under the laws
of the State of florida, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, recognizes the urgent need for medical services to
Monroe County low income persons admitted for treatment at the
Monroe Alcohol Rehabilitation Center/Crisis Stabilization Unit,
and
WHEREAS, these low income persons require necessary medical
care to become or remain self-sufficient, and
WHEREAS, funds for such services are currently unavailable
to meet this need for services to low income persons residing in
Monroe County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, funds for these purposes may be obtainable from the
Department of Cummunity Affairs in the form of Community Service
Block Grant Funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board of County
Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, hereby authorizes the
Mayor to execute and the County Administrator to submit the
application for $6,483.00 in Community Service Block Grant funds
a copy of which is attached hereto and further authorizes the
Mayor to sign the grant award when notified to provide medical
care to these identified low income persons during the period of
April 1, 1985 through September 30, 1985.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 8th day of February, A.D. 1985.
