RESOLUTION NO. 059-1985
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR
GRANT FUNDS TO THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO ITS
RENTAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, there is a great need for decent, affordable
housing in Monroe County, and
WHEREAS, the rehabilitation and physical improvement of
existing rental units would help meet this need, and
WHEREAS, the provision of rental housing assistance to lower
income families to help them afford rent would help meet this
need, and
WHEREAS, funds for such rehabilitation and rental housing
assistance may be available to the County from the Federal
Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Rental
Rehabilitation Program, now, therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
1. That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to submit
an application for grant funds to the Federal Department of
Housing and Urban Development under its Rental Rehabilitation
Program requesting funds for the rehabilitation of 125 units,
said application to comply in all regards with the Department of
Housing and Urban Development's Rental Rehabilitation Program
Interim Rule, 24CFR Part 511.
2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption by the Commission and execution by the Presiding Officer
and Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a special meeting of said Board held
on the 20th day of February, A.D. 1985.
