RESOLUTION NO. 274 -1985
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
AND MANAGEMENT OF THE COCO PLUM BEACH TRACT
AS A PUBLIC RECREATION FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County
has recognized the need to purchase coastal lands to be retained
by the State of Florida in perpetuity, and
WHEREAS, these lands are rapidly being developed, and
WHEREAS, local units of government do not have the financial
resources to purchase these valuable lands, and
WHEREAS, the Coco Plum Beach tract of land has been submit-
ted to the State for the acquisition program, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that said Board does hereby resolve to
manage and supervise the Coco Plum Beach tra~ of land, i~ said
parcel is acquired, for a period of twenty-five (25) years from
the date of acquisition, and shall develop the above parcel as
needed to facilitate appropriate public recreation within five
(5) years from the date of acquisition.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida at a special meeting of said Board held on
the 30th day of September, 1985.
