RESOLUTION NO. 281 -1985
RESOLUTION APPROVING MONROE COUNTY APPOINT-
MENTS TO THE SOUTH FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT AND
TRAINING CONSORTIUM PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE POSITION PAPER ON
THE PROCEDURES FOR ESTABLISHING THE SFETC-PIC
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE JOB TRAINING
PARTNERSHIP ACT.
WHEREAS, the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) enacted in
September, 1982 has replaced the Comprehensive Employment and
Training Act (CETA); and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Employment and Training Consorti-
urn meets the requirements for automatic designation as a Service
Delivery Area (Dade and Monroe Area) under the Job Training
Partnership Act; and
WHEREAS, the Job Training Partnership Act requires that each
Service Delivery Area has a Private Industry Council (PIC) with a
majority of its members representing the private sector; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Private Industry Council must be
appointed by the chief elected official of the Service Delivery
Area from nominations submitted by general purpose business
organizations and other appropriate groups; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, as the chief elected official of Monroe
County has selected the appointees on the attached nominee's
information sheet as a member to the SFETC-PIC representing
Monroe County Public Sector/Private Sector Seat; and

WHEREAS, these appointments are made to fill vacancies in
the Monroe County Public Sector/Private Sector Seats vacated by
Mona Chase, a Private Sector Representative from Monroe County,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the members on the
attached list be appointed hereby this 4th day of October, 1985,
for a term of two (2) years expiring in 1987.
