The AlE Design Team (PBS&:J, Inc. with Wo1fberg, Alvarez and Associates and Charles
McCoy and Associates as professional consultants) will prepare Construction Documents,
consisting of working drawings, specifications and bid documents, tor construction of a 3-
story, 19,050 S.F., Criminal Justice Facility Building with amenities pursuant to discussions
at the County Commission Meeting held on September 30, 1985 and approved by the
Commission at that meeting for the Sheriff's Department in conformance with the Master
Plan of Jackson Square, as shown in the amended Monroe County Jail/Government Facility
Planning Study, incorporating the requirements and regulations of the Old Island Restoration
Commission.
It should be noted that the 2nd elevator, the attic and new generator have been eliminated
from the design program. The old generator, removed from the jail complex, will be
relocated and installed to provide as much standby generation as it can deliver.
The design will be limited to the site work, shell construction, one elevator, first fioor
improvements, laboratory, second fioor improvements, computer/communications and third
fioor improvements outlined on the estimated construction cost document provided by
W.A.A. dated July 15, 1985.
-
The A/E Design Team will provide necessary working drawings for the site work paving and
drainage and on-site utility extensions. Demolition of existing structures and necessary soils
testing will be provided by the Owner. A survey of the U.s.O. Property will be provided to
the A/E Design Team by the Owner.
The contract documents will be structured to receive a base bid for the shell, site work and
elevator. All other amenities will be additive alternatives.
The A/E Design Team will also perform construction phase services, i.e., contract
administration, construction observation and final certification. The proposed
improvements should meet the requirements of Chapter 84-350 of the Laws of Florida for
disbursement of additional 1 % sales tax funds.
The A/E Design Team will complete the Preliminary and Final Design Construction
Documents within 90 days. Construction phase services will be rendered for a 270 day
constructed period only. If construction extends beyond 270 days, services rendered will
incur additional fees on a time-charge basis.
Until this Addendum is approved, thereby superceding Addendum No.6, the A/E Design
Team will design only the shell of the 19,050 S.P. structure, per Addendum No.6.
