A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN
RECOGNITION OF THE LATE WALTER MARLOWE.
WHEREAS, Walter Marlowe, respected businessman and community
leader, has passed away at the age of 48; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Marlowe had earned a reputation for his devotion to
human rights causes and community improvement and was always in the
forefront raising money for important causes; and
WH EREAS, Mr. Marlowe was one of the moving forces behind the
formation of the Key West Business Guild, having served on its board for 10 years
and as its president from 1987-89; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Marlowe was also a member and past Chairman of the
Monroe County Beach Advisory Board, established to carry out beach and
shore preservation in Monroe County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to recognize the
late Walter Marlowe for his extensive public service and his vast dedication to his
community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its
regret and mourning for the passing of the late Walter Marlowe and in
recognition of his extensive dedication and vast public service to the people of
Key West and Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2. The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this
Resolution to Mr. Marlowe's surviving family members to express the Board's
sorrow.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 14th day of
December, 1994.
