RESOLUTION NO. 019 -1984
WHEREAS , Monroe County authorized the issuance of $2, 600,000
in Bridge Revenue Bonds pursuant to Resolution No. 54-1967 , and
WHEREAS , the Card Sound Road and Toll Bridge Facility was
constructed using the proceeds of said Bond Issue and opened to
traffic in July, 1969 , and
WHEREAS , the present toll schedule of 0 . 30 per axle ($0 . 60
per car) has been in effect since August 13 , 1974 at which time
Resolution No. 97-1974 was passed raising the original $0 . 25 per
axle ($0 . 50 per car) rate, and
WHEREAS , due to escalating maintenance costs and continuing
normal deterioration of various components of the facility,
monies available from the "Renewal and Replacement Fund" created
by Resolution No . 54-1967 are not sufficient to perform necessary
maintenance and repair work, and
(' WHEREAS , most cost indicators have more than doubled during
the period of 1974 to present , now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
(1) That Article III, Section 3 . 04.A of aforementioned
Resolution No . 54-1967 be again revised to reflect the following
rates for travel through the Card Sound Road and Toll Bridge
Facility, effective March 1, 1984 :
2 axle vehicle $1. 00
3 axle vehicle $1 . 50
4 axle vehicle $2 . 00
5 axle vehicle $2 . 50
6 axle vehicle $3 . 00
(2) That a charge of forty cents (40 ) per axle shall be
made for commuter tickets for the use of the Card Sound Bridge,
the details of said charge to be worked out by the staff and the
same to be implemented and put in effect on March 1, 1984 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Article III, Section 3 . 04. C(3)
of aforementioned Resolution No . 54-1967 be revised to raise the.
sum to be deposited in the "Renewal and Replacement Fund" each

axle ($0.50 per car) rate, and

monies available from the "Renewal and Replacement Fund" created
by Resolution No. 54-1967 are not sufficient to perform necessary

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Article III, Section 3.04.C(3)
of aforementioned Resolution No. 54-1967 be revised to raise the
sum to be deposited in the "Renewal and Replacement Fund" each
month from the present sum of $1,250.00 to $7,500.00 and also
raise the maximum amount to be contained in said fund from the
present $75,000.00 to $300,000.00 and that provisions and
covenants contained in Article III, Section 3.04.A of the
aforementioned Resolution No. 54-1967 be complied with prior to
transfer of increased funds to the "Renewal and Replacement
Fund".
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 13th day
of January, A.D. 1984.

NOTICE OF CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commission-
ers of Monroe County, Florida, will hold a continued public
hearing to consider the increase in the toll for Card Sound
Bridge to fifty cents (50~) per axle.
The hearing will be held
on Friday, January 13, 1983, at the Marathon Sub-Courthouse,
Marathon, Monroe County, Florida.
Said tolls, if approved, to
take effect subsequent to said continued public hearing.
Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, notice is
given that if a person decided to appeal any decision made by the
Board with respect to any matter considered at such hearing or
meeting, he will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for
such purpose, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the
proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and
evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
