RESOLUTION NO. 040-1983
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE SUPERVISOR OF
ELECTIONS, BILLY FREEMAN, TO INCLUDE ON THE
BALLOT FOR THE MARCH 13, 1984 ELECTION A
PROPOSITION WHEREIN THE CITIZENS OF KEY WEST
AND KEY COLONY BEACH, INDIVIDUALLY AND
SEPARATELY, SHALL VOTE BY REFERENDUM TO
DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT THEY BECOME PART OF
THE TRANSLATOR DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the City of Key West and the City of Key Colony
Beach has requested Monroe County to call a special referendum to
permit the citizens of Key West and Key Colony Beach,
individually and separately, elect as to whether or not they wish
to become part of the Translator District, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and County Commission of Monroe County,
Florida, desire to cooperate with the City of Key West and the
City of Key Colony Beach in this regard to the fullest, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNTY COMMISSION OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The Supervisor of Elections, Billy Freeman, be and he is
hereby requested to place on the ballot for the election of
March 13, 1984 the question as to whether or not the citizens of
Key West and Key Colony Beach, individually and separately,
desire to become a part of the County-wide Translator District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida at a regular meeting held on the ~ day
