RESOLUTION NO. 123 -1984
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR AND THE
CABINET TO PROVIDE REPRESENTATIVES TO MEET
WITH THE MONROE COUNTY COMMISSION CONCERNING
THE FLORIDA KEYS RULES FOR GUIDELINE
DEVELOPMENTS.
WHEREAS, the Governor and Cabinet of the State of Florida
have developed and enacted Florida Keys Rules for Guideline
Developments, and
WHEREAS, the same is too vague, confusing and conflicting to
be implemented correctly, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNTY COMMISSION OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. Because of the problem of understanding and interpreting
the aforesaid Rules, the same should be reviewed with the
intention of clarification.
2. Since the sole purpose of developing such Rules as
described hereinabove is to protect the environment and control
growth in Monroe County, it is the intent of this Commission to
act thereon to the best of its ability in conjunction with the
State of Florida.
3. That the adoption of these principles without an
economic impact study, which should reflect the application of
these principles, can only lead to some type of economic
disorder.
4. Furthermore, this Commission would request the Governor
and the Cabinet to designate representatives to meet with
representatives of this County to redraft a clear and concise set
of plans for guiding development in the Florida Keys.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
forwarded to the Governor and the Cabinet of the State of Florida
by the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, Monroe County,
Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board on the
6th day of April, 1984.
