Title: ~E61DE>V" ~bove ChangeS. are A=tfed: Attest~~= Date. 1; ;I1.'(f GC/f18 ATTACHMENT TO CHANGE ORDER '2 JUNIOR COLLEGE ROAD NATURE OF THE CHANGE Based on a December 21, 1983 meeting in the office of the County Attorney relative to the 20-inch cast iron water main belonging to the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority on the western side of Jr. College Road from approximately Station 13+00 to Station 23+00, the following decision was made to insure the integrity of the water main. Move the center line of pavement of Jr. College Road 4 to 6 feet to the east of its present location, thus leaving the 20" cast iron water main in the western unpaved shoulder of the road. Thus maintenance on the pipe could be accomplished without the removal of portions of the roadway. This decision involves the placement of additional asphalt from approximately Station 10+00 to Station 25+00 to move the crown of the road easterly approximately 4 to 6 feet and resulted in the use of approximately 105 tons of asphaltic concrete over and above that projected for the original contract. Based on the bid lump sum price for asphaltic concrete of $41,718, for 16,425 S.Y. of asphalt 1-1/2" thick this figure reduces to $35.00/ton of asphaltic concrete in place. 105 tons x $35 = an additional cost of $3,675. With the movement of the road 4 to 6 feet to the east of its present location, it necessitated the removal of (2) 50 foot royal palm trees, value $2,500 each, from the County right-of-way. To utilize these trees they were moved at Mr. Stickney's request to the new County compound being constructed at the Key West Airport area. This tree removing was accomplished by the contractor at a cost of $1,090.10. Total cost of this change request is $4,765.10. RCP/lvc 401-002.13
