William A, Freeman, Jr. Monroe County Sheriff RESOLUTION NO. 184 -1984 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO INSTALL AND OPERATE REMOTE AUXILIARY RADIO RECEIVERS ON THE TELEVISION TRANSLATOR TOWERS LOCATED ON KEY LARGO AND GRASSEY KEY, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the Sheriff of Monroe County, Florida, is re- questing to attach remote auxiliary radio receivers to the television translator towers on Key Largo and Grassey Key, Florida, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, have the authority to authorize and utilize the translator towers for this type of operation, and WHEREAS, it is to the best interest and safety of the citizens of Monroe County, Florida, to permit and allow the Sheriff's office to make use of the translator towers as is requested by the installation of remote radio receivers, and WHEREAS, by the installation of remote radio receivers on said translator towers a savings will be realized, in that there will be no need to erect new radio towers for this particular use, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNTY COMMISSION OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: 1. The Sheriff of Monroe County, Florida, is hereby authorized to make use of the television translator towers on both Key Largo and Grassey Key, Florida, for the purpose of installing thereon operational remote auxiliary radio receivers to be used by the Sheriff's Department, 2. That the responsibility for the acquisition of said radio receivers, the installation thereof and any other incidental expenses relating to this use shall be the sole responsibility of the Sheriff of Monroe County, Florida. This responsibility shall included the maintenance and care of said radio receivers. 3. That the Commission's approval is contingent upon the approval of the Translator Committee based on the recommendation of Mr. Henry Naubereit. 4. That the Sheriff be, and he is hereby required to remove any and all equipment that he attaches to the translator towers within ninety (90) days after notification by the County. Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on the 29th day of June, A.D. 1984.
