RESOLUTION NO. 199-1984
A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRA-
TOR TO CONTACT THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPART-
MENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND TO CONSIDER WITH
THAT ENTITY THE USE OF CERTAIN SOLAR LIGHT
FIXTURES FOR THE SEVEN-MILE BRIDGE.
WHEREAS, a number of serious traffic accidents have occurred
on the Seven-Mile Bridge, and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bob Epstein appeared at the Board of County
Commissioners meeting on July 13, 1984, for the purpose of
discussing, describing, and demonstrating a solar lighting system
designed and guaranteed for 25 years low maintenance operation,
which system could be installed rapidly and at a cost of less
than $30,000, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the County Administrator is hereby
directed to meet with Mr. Epstein and the State of Florida
Department of Transportation to request consideration of this
solar lighting system for the Seven-Mile Bridge.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
