RESOLUTION NO.253 -1984
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE PROPOSAL TO PLACE
IN VARIOUS AREAS SCULPTURES OR SYMBOLIC
FACSIMILES TO INDICATE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN
THE FLORIDA KEYS.
WHEREAS, Mr. Henry Rosenthal of the Islamorada Chamber of
Commerce presented to the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, a plan for placing sculptures and other
facsimiles of attractions in the Florida Keys, Monroe County,
Florida, in strategic locations along U.S. Highway #1, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and County Commission of Monroe County,
Florida, endorse said plan as being a means of advising tourist
in the Florida Keys of the attractions in Monroe County, Florida
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and County Commission of Monroe County,
Florida, are of the belief that any advertising or showing of the
things of interest in Monroe County, Florida, are advantageous to
all the people in Monroe County, Florida, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNTY COMMISSION OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The concept expressed and reflected in the presentation
of Henry Rosenthal to place sculptures and other demonstrative
facsimiles on U.S. Highway #1 depicting the various tourist
attractions in the Florida Keys, be, and it is herein endorsed.
2. That the endorsement herein is made in that the Mayor
and County Commission of Monroe County, Florida, are of the
belief that such showings as was reflected in the presentation
will be of great benefit to Monroe County, Florida, and the
tourism located herein.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the
