RESOLUTION NO. 047-1993
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE SHERIFF OF
MONROE COUNTY DILIGENTLY ENFORCE SEC. 19-102,
MONROE COUNTY CODE, WHICH PROHIBITS OVERNIGHT
CAMPING WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF U.S. 1.
WHEREAS, certain concerned citizens have brought
attention of the County Commission the fact that numerous
are violating Sec. 19-102, Monroe County Code, by
overnight within the right-of-way of U.S. 1; and
WHEREAS, such camping causes a litter problem and creates a
nighttime hazard to passing motorists thereby adversely affecting
the public's safety and welfare; now, therefore,
to the

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Sheriff of Monroe County is hereby
requested to diligently enforce Sec. 19-102, Monroe County Code,
regarding the prohibition on overnight camping within the U.S. 1
right-of-way.
Section 2. The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to
send a certified copy of this resolution to the Honorabl~ Richard
Roth, Sheriff of Monroe County. 0 ~
