RESOLUTION NO. 327-1984
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF
$6,600,000 INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE
BONDS OF THE MONROE COUNTY INDUSTRIAL DEVEL-
OPMENT AUTHORITY TO FINANCE AN INDUSTRIAL
DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BOND PROJECT FOR HOTEL
GROUP, INC. (HOTEL GROUP, INC. PROJECT).
WHEREAS, Hotel Group, Inc., a Florida Corporation, has
applied to the Monroe County Industrial Development Authority
(the "Authority") for industrial development revenue bond financ-
ing assistance in the amount of $6,600,000 to pay all or a
portion of the costs of the acquisition and construction of a
public lodging or restaurant facility to be located in the City
of Key West, Monroe County, Florida, including the acquisition of
a site and construction of a building and the acquisition of
equipment and fixtures relating thereto (the "Proj ect"), all to
be owned by Hotel Group, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, the Monroe County, Florida, Board of County Commis-
sioners concurs in the findings of the Monroe County Industrial
Development Authority that the Project will inure to the benefit
of the citizens of Monroe County and serve a paramount public
purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Board has this date held a public hearing on
the project in conformance with the requirements of the Tax
Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, as amended, and
said Public Hearing has not disclosed any information sufficient
to cause the Board to rescind the previous action of the Authori-
ty regarding the Project.
Section 2. All prior actions of the Authority regarding the
Project are hereby approved and ratified by the Board, and the
issuance of $6,600,000 Industrial Development Revenue 'Bonds by
the Authority for the Project is hereby approved.
The 'Board
concurs with particularity in the findings of the Authority that
the project constitutes a "public lodging or restaurant facility"
as defined in Chapter 159, Section 159.27 (12), Florida
Statutes, as amended, in that it is necessary to other projects
which would qualify for financing from the proceeds of industrial
development revenue bonds under Chapter 159, Florida Statutes, as
amended.
Section 3.
This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner Edwin
O. Swift, III, who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded
by Commissioner Jerry Hernandez and upon being put to vote, the
vote was as follows:
