WHEREAS, the Sheriff of Mcnroe CaJnty, Florida has recommended that the
Board of County Commissioners adopt a policy to allow county prisoners extra
good time allowance for meritorious conduct or exceptional industry in addition
to time credits allowed for gain time pursuant to Subsection (1) of Section
951.21, Florida Statutes (1982 Suppliment), and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that such a
policy should be adopted for county prisoners, and
Whereas, the Sheriff of Mcnroe CaJnty is the proper office to effect
such a po licy, and
WHEREAS, Subsection (3) of Section 951.21, Florida Statutes (1982
Suppliment) provides that the policy adopted by the Board of CaJnty Commissioners
shall be in accordance with the existing policy of the Florida Department of
Corrections for such awards for state prisoners, now, therefore,

MJNRCE COJNlY, FLCRIDA, that it is now the policy of the Board of CaJnty
Commissioners that county prisoners in custody of the Sheriff of Mcnroe County,
Florida, shall receive extra good time allowance for meritorious conduct or
exceptional industry in accordance with the Florida Department of Corrections
policy for such awards for state prisoners as that policy currently exists and
as it may from time to time be awarded, and
BE IT FtRTl-ER RESQVED that the Sheriff of Mcnroe CaJnty, or his
designate, shall be responsible for effecting and applying this policy for
county prisoners in the custody of the Sheri ff of Mcnroe CaJnty, Florida.
