RESOLUTION NO. 191 -1983
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF.
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO
EXECUTE A SIGN LEASE BY AND BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF
MONROE, STATE OF FLORIDA, AND STEPHEN B. ZAFIR AND
AMY ZAFIR D/B/A AMY' S FOR LEASING OF SIGN SPACE
AT THE KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows :
That the Mayor and Chairman of the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Monroe County, Florida, is hereby authorized to execute
a Sign Lease by and between the County of Monroe, State of Florida.,
and Stephen B. Zafir and Amy Zafir d/b/a Amy' s , a copy of same
being attached hereto, for leasing of sign space at the Key West
International Airport.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 10th day of June, A.D. 1983 .

• SIGN LEASE
•
THIS LEASE made and executed on- the day of
1983 , by and between the 'COUNTY OF MONROE , STATE OF FLORIDA, apolitical
subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter referred to as Lessor
and Stephen B. Zafit, and .Amy Zafir, d/b/a Amy' s , whose principal office
is located . at #7 Key Lime Square, Key West, Florida 33040 , State of
• Florida, hereinafter 'refe.rred to as Lessee.
IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual covenants , promises and .premises
herein. 'contained, the parties hereto agree as. follows : •
Section 1 . Description of Premises and Use. Lessor hereby
leases to Lessee and Lessee hires from Lessor for the purpose of in-.
stalling one (1) sign as hereinafter described at - the Key West Inter
national Airport owned and operated by the COUNTY OF MONROE in location
E-11, as shown on the attached sketch which is attached hereto and made
. a part hereof. •
• Section 2 ._ Term of Lease. This lease shall begin on the. 1st day
of April:, 1983 and shall end on September 30 , 1983.
. Section 3 . Rent . The Lessee shall pay to the Lessor the total
rent for the term of this lease Three Hundred Dollars ($300 . 00) , plus
any sales tax, in advance ; in. lawful money of the United States of
America upon 'execution of this lease. If Lessee terminates this lease
prior to the end of the term .hereof, Lessee shall not receive any re-
fund.
Section 4. Sign. " The Lessee is hereby granted the right to
install one (1) sign, two feet high by three feet wide, (2 ' x 3 ' ) , in
the areas as stated in ' Section 1. - The- Lessee" shall submit to the Lessor
a 'detailed drawing .of the sign setting forth all wording to be placed
on the sign including material to be used in the construction thereof,
• colors , ' and any other matter relating thereto - for approval by the Lessor
prior to installation of same. The sign shall be constructed in a
professional manner and installed at the locations designated herein
in accordance with the instructions of Lessor..
-Section 5 : Maintenance. The Lessee shall maintain the sign in
good order at all times during the term of this lease and if Lessee
fails to .do so , Lessor shall give Lessee ten (10) - days notice of this
failure to comply and upon Lessee ' s failure to comply in maintaining
• - 2-
said sign, Lessee does hereby give, grant , 'and authorize the Lessor to
remove said sign at Lessee ' s expense.
Section 6. Waste and Nuisance Prohibited. Lessee shall not
commit or suffer 'to ' be 'comuitted any waste in the demised premises or
any nuisance.
Section 7 . .Taxes . ' Lessee 'shall .pay, before delinquent , all
personal property taxes assessed against said sign.
Section 8 . Termination'. and Repairs . Lessee shall at the termin-
• . ation of this lease . remove any sign installed hereunder immediately
upon termination and -sha.11 repair any damage caused by said, removal. .
If Lessee fails to remove said sign upon termiriation; of this lease, '
Lessee does hereby ' give, grant , and authorize the Lessor the 'right to
remove said sign in behalf of Lessee at Lessee ' s expense.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused these presents
to be executed, all as of the day and year first above written. .
