RESOLUTION NO. 220-1983
RESOLUTION CO~1ENDING LAURA GROUND FOR HER HEROIC
EFFORTS IN SAVING THE LIFE OF MANN THOMPSON FROM
DROWNING ON JUNE 30, 1983; PROVIDING FOR AN APPRO-
PRIATE PLAQUE TO PRESENT TO THE AFORESAID LAURA
GROUND EVIDENCING THE SAME.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Laura Ground be and she is hereby commended
for her unselfish effort in saving the life of Mann Thompson from
drowning on June 30, 1983.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Commission hereby
provides that an appropriate plaque symbolizing said event be
prepared and awarded to the aforesaid Laura Ground.
BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this reso-
lution be prepared and forwarded to Laura Ground as a perpetual
keepsake in evidence of her lifesaving efforts on June 30, 1983 as
aforesaid.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on
the 22nd day of July, A.D. 1983.
