A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY CO~n1ISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TO
LEASE CERTAIN OFFICE SPACE IN THE KEY BUILDING,
LOCATED IN ISLAMORADA, TO BE UTILIZED AS OFFICE SPACE
FOR A MONROE COUNTY CO~IISSIONER, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD AND THE CLERK TO
EXECUTE THE SAID LEASE.
WHEREAS, the County is authorized to lease office space for
the use of its County Commissioners to be utilized in the perfor-
mance of the duties of a County Commissioner, and
WHEREAS, it is detennined that leasing certain space in The
Key Building located in Is1amorada, to be utilized by the County
Commissioner from District 4, will serve a valid public purpose,
and will facilitate the operation of the Monroe County governmental
responsibilities, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the County is hereby authorized to lease the
ground floor space, excluding the front or west room, of The Key
Building, located in Is1amorada, Monroe County, Florida, to be
utilized as office space by the District 4 Monroe County Commis-
sioner, and the Mayor and Chairman of the Board of County Commis-
sioners and the Clerk of the said Board are hereby authorized to
enter into and to execute a lease for the said premises at a rent
of $300.00 per month, for the term of one (1) year, to be extended
by Lessee for an additional three (3) one-year terms.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 7th day of January, A.D. 1983.

LEASE AGREEMENT
THIS LEASE AGREEMENT, Made and entered into this 7th
day of January , 1983, by and between JERRY M. PORTER
and LEROY K. DELLINGER, of the County of Monroe , State of
Florida, Lessors, and the COUNTY OF MONROE, STATE OF FLORIDA, a
political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter called
the Lessee,
WITNESSETH:
That for and in consideration of the various promises herein
made and the considerations shown hereinafter, the parties do agree
each with to the other as follows:
1. That the aforesaid Lessors do lease to Monroe County,
Lessee, that certain place in The Key Building to be entitled "The
Ground Floor Space, Excluding the Front (West) Room" in Is1amorada,
Monroe County, Florida.
2. That the lease and rental to be paid for this space shall
be in the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) per month, payable
in advance, to be paid on the day of each and every month
hereinafter for the term of this Lease Agreement.
3. That this lease shall be cancellable by either party upon
thirty (30) days written notice, it being understood that notice
to the Lessors shall be at 1611 S. W. First Avenue, Fort Lauderdale,
Florida 33315, and the notice to the Lessee to be C/O Kermit H.
Lewin, County Administrator, Public Service Building, Stock Island,
Key West, Florida 33040.
4. That the term of this lease shall be for one (1) year with
it being understood by the parties that sixty (60) days prior to the
termination of said agreement, the Lessee may, by written indication,
extend the term for a period of three (3) one-year options, making a
total of four (4) years; during any such extension the mutual can-
cellation in paragraph 3. above continue in effect.
5. That this lease is exclusive of utilities, including water
and electricity. That Lessee supply Lessor with certificates of
insurance providing coverage protecting Lessor's exposure under this
lease as to liability..

6. That it is agreed by the Lessee that in the event the
Lessor desires to show these premises, upon reasonable notice, the
same shall be -permitted by mutual consent.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
Lease Agreement the day and year first above written.
