RESOLUTION NO. 169 -1981
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO IMPLEMENT THE
DOYLE/SORENSEN PLAN FOR PROVIDING COMPETENT AND
TIMELY PLANNING, BUILDING, AND ZONING SERVICES
TO THE CITIZENS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND
AUTHORIZES THE COUNTY ATTORNEY TO ADVERTISE FOR
A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, Monroe County's natural resources require
extensive monitoring, planning and protection because of their
unique and irreplaceable nature; and
WHEREAS, the future of Monroe County's economic base
depends upon the efficient utilization of these natural assets; and
WHEREAS, ~1onroe County is at present attempting to
assess the impacts of development with a staff which is now and
has been for some time understaffed and underfunded to adequately
provide planning, building, and zoning services to the citizens
of Monroe County; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY CO~1ISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
That the County Administrator of Monroe County, Florida,
be and he is hereby authorized to implement the plan of the ad
hoc committee, commonly referred to as the Doyle/Sorensen Plan,
for providing competent and timely planning, building, and zoning
services to the citizens of Monroe County, Florida.
This authorization shall specifically include, but not be
limited to, any necessary increases in fees, to prepare an
ordinance amending the fees now paid, and changes of zoning,
in accordance with the provisions of the Doyle/Sorensen Plan.
This resolution also authorizes the County Attorney to
advertise for a public hearing on the Ordinance.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners
of Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board
held on the 2nd day of June, A.D. 1981.
