RESOLUTION NO. 243 -1981
RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE IMPOUNDING OF VESSELS
USED IN THE CUBAN SEALIFT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY CO~~ISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the aforesaid County Commission does resolve
that the intent and purpose of the Cuban Sealift prior to May 15, 1980,
was for the apparent humane purpose of evacuating people and persons
from Cuba who had no desire whatsoever to remain there as citizens or
visitors;
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this Commission has no intent or
desire to involve itself in any controversial matters relating thereto
other than to declare what the understanding was as to the purpose and
reason for the aforesaid evacuation.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on
day of August, 1981.
