A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COIvlMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, INCREASING THE STATE LIMIT OF
ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS FOR THE LOCAL
HOUSING INCENTIVE PARTNERSHIP (SHIP)
PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, the County has established a local State Housing Initiative Partnership

Program and local Housing Assistance Program by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, by finding of fact, Monroe County has been Florida's county with the
highest cost of Jiving for the last six consecutive years per the Florida Price Level Index;
has the longest linear geographic boundaries of any county; has over 90% of its land mass
controlled by state/federal agencies; has a Comprehensive Rate of Growth Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, these facts and other considerations do not adequately allow for the
administrative implementation of the county's SIllP program under state statue and
regulations within the five percent (5%) state administration allocation of available SHIP
funds; and
WHEREAS, the county upon accepting the finding of fact as stated, may
detennine that up to ten percent (10%) of available SHIP funds be required in the
administration support of the local SIllP program.
TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIIE BOARD OF COUNTY
CO:Mr\.1ISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board hereby
designates that ten percent (10%) of available SHIP funds shall be used for administrative
expenses towards the implementation of the local SHIP program,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on the / 'I fI? day of
