RESOLUTION NO. 374-1981
RESOLUTION SETTING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS AT 30,000 POUNDS
ON THE CARD SOUND BRIDGE AND ROADWAY.
vlliEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Board of
County Commissioners of l1onroe County, Florida, that it is neces-
sary to impose weight restrictions on the Card Sound Bridge and
Roadway in order to prolong the life cycle of the roadway to
maximum periods between required maintenance so as to avoid the
need for such resurfacing projects on a much more frequent basis,
and
tffiEREAS, it was previously recommended by the County Engineers
and approved by the Commission to set the weight restrictions at
30,000 pounds in order to maintain said roadway in the most econom-
ical fashion, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to affirm
the setting of the weight restrictions at 30,000 pounds on the Card
Sound Bridge and Roadway, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That said Board hereby sets the weight restrictions at
30,000 pounds on the Card Sound Bridge and Roadway in accordance
with the recommendations of the County Engineers.
2. That a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded by
the Clerk of the Board to the Florida State Department of Transpor-
tation for their use and information.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting 'of said Board held on
the 15th day of December, A. D. 1981.
