RESOLUTION NO.
71 -1963
WHEREAS, the Florida State Firemen's Association is holding a
district meeting in Marathon, Florida on October 26, 1963, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida desires to recognize the importance of the Florida Keys Volunteer
Fire Department Association, as well as the Florida State Firemen's Asso-
ciation, to Monroe County, Florida, and to honor all their efforts and the
excellent manner in which they, as volunteers, have fought fires in Monroe
County, Florida, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the 26th day of October, 1963, be,
and it is hereby designated as "Fire Fighters' Day" in Monroe County, Flori-
da, and said Board hereby urges all the citizens of said County to assist the
Florida Keys Volunteer Fire Department Association and the Florida State
Firemen's Association in any way possible on said day, during the district
meeting of said Association being held in Marathon, Monroe County, Florida.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this
Resolution to the Florida Keys Volunteer Fire Department Association, with
a request that same be read at said district meeting,
