Resolution 072-1963 RESOLUTION NO. 72 -1963 WHEREAS, there have been numerous accidents at the intersection of U. S. Highway No. 1 and Roosevelt Boulevard in the City of Key West, Florida, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, deems it in the best interests of the public safety and welfare, and as an emergency measure, to immediately have the State Road Department reduce the speed limit at said intersection to 15 MPH, and for the State Road Department to have a traffic survey made to determine what can be done to eliminate the hazardous condition now existing in said area, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the State Road Department be, and it is hereby requested to immediately establish a 15 MPH speed limit at the intersection of U. S. Highway No. 1 and Roosevelt Boulevard in the City of Key West, Florida, and to conduct the necessary traffic survey to determine what can be done to eliminate the hazardous condition now existing in said area, in an effort to prevent further accidents. BE IT FUR THER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this Resolution to the State Road Department for appropriate action.
