Resolution 074-1963RESOLUTION NO. 74 -1963
WHEREAS, no hunting is permitted within the boundaries of the
Everglades National Park, and
WHEREAS, certain limitations are placed on both sport and com-
mercial fishing in said Park, and
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of County Com-
missioners of Monroe County, Florida, that no signs or other means of
identifying the boundary lines of said Park exist at this time, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that said Board do, and does hereby,
respectfully request the Park Service of the United States Department of
Interior to define and properly mark the boundaries of the Everglades Na-
tional Park, so that hunters and fishermen will be aware of said boundaries
and will not unknowingly violate any Federal regulations that exist as regards
hunting and fishing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this
Resolution to the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida;
Mr. Stanley C. Joseph, Superintendent of the Everglades National Park,
Homestead, Florida; the Honorable Spessard L. Holland, United States
Senator; the Honorable George A. Smathers, United States Senator, and
the Honorable Paul G. Rogers, United States Representative.
