Resolution 017-1964 RESOLUTION NO. 17 -1964 WHEREAS, the residents of Monroe County, Florida residing in the Florida Keys have had difficulty in obtaining adequate windstorm in- surance coveraie, and WHEREAS, the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Florida is aware of this situation, and is making an effort to obtain and provide ade- quate windstorm insurance for said area, from private companies, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida feels that if said Insurance Commissioner is unable to obtain such coverage, the Federal Government should be asked to provide plans for adequate windstorm protection in said area, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Florida be, and he is hereby requested that in the event he is unable to obtain adequate windstorm insurance coverage for the residents of the Florida Keys in Monroe County, Florida, his office ask the Federal Government to provide plans for adequate windstorm insurance coverage for the citizens of Monroe County, Florida, residing in said area. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the State Insurance Commissioner for appropriate action.
