RESOLUTION NO.
19 -1964
WHEREAS, The City of Key West, Florida is. inviting the Lakeland
Tigers Baseball Team of the Florida State Baseball League to move its
franchise to the City of Key West, Florida, and play the last half of the
series in said city, consisting of approximately 36 home games, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida desires to endorse the action of the City of Key West in inviting
said team to transfer its franchise to said city, and
WHEREAS, said Board believes that such transfer of franchise
would provide recreation and would benefit the public welfare of the citizens
of Monroe County, Florida, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the proposed transfer of franchise
of the Lakeland Tigers Baseball Team of the Florida State Baseball League
to the City of Key West, Florida be, and the same is hereby endorsed by
said Board, and all members of the Florida State Baseball League are
hereby urged to permit such transfer of franchise.
