WHEREAS, the Board. of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida has been requested by the Islamorada ,Chamber of Commerce to
recommend names for the coral reefs in the Atlantic Ocean offshore from
Upper Matecumbe Key and Lower Matecumbe Key, and
WHEREAS, said Chamber of Commerce ha.s suggested that said
reefs be named "Islamorada Underwater Coral Gardens" and '!South Isla-
morada Underwater Coral Gardens", and
WHEREAS, said Board desires to recommend said names for said
c.oral reefs, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD. OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that said Board recommends that the
coral reef in the Atlantic Ocean offshore from Upper Matecumbe Key be
named "Islamorada Underwater Coral Gardens-" and the coral reef in the
Atlantic Ocean offshore from Lower Matecumbe Key be named 1,S u:th_Isla-
morada Underwater Coral Gardens".
.BE. IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized. to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Domestic Names Committee, Board on Geographic Names,
U. S. Geological Survey, Department of the Interior, Washington, D. C.
