RESOLUTION NO. 47 -1966
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida has set forth in the budget for the year 1966-67 the sum of $7, 500.00
to be applied towards opening each end of the Cross Key Canal, Key Largo,
Monroe County, Florida, which said sum amounts to 50% of the contract
price for such construction work, and
WHEREAS, the completion of such work will open up the John H.
Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park to numerous citizens and small boats,
and connect the Inland Waterway with said park, and
WHEREAS, said Board desires to request the Florida Outdoor Re-
creational and Planning Commission of the State of Florida to contribute
50% of the cost of said project, in order that said project may be completed,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Florida Outdoor Recreational and
Planning Commission of the State of Florida be, and it is hereby requested
to contribute the sum of $7, 500. 00 towards the project of opening each end
of the Cross Key Canal, Key Largo, Monroe County, Florida, said sum re-
presenting 50% of the contract price for such construction work.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the Florida Outdoor Recreational and Planning Commission of
the State of Florida, with a request that appropriate action be taken by said
Commission.
