Resolution 092-1966RESOLUTION NO. 92-1966 WHEREAS, the Federal Bureau of Public Roads will make its report on or before January, 1968, concerning mileage for the State of Florida in the Interstate System, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida feels that the extension of Interstate I-95, from Miami southward to Key West, should be given utmost consideration and priority for any addi- tional interstate mileage which would be assigned to Florida in said report, because of the congested conditions now existing on U. S. Highway #1 from Miami southward to Key West, which said congestion has caused numerous accidents and many deaths during the past year, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the State Road Department of the State of Florida be, and it is hereby requested to include in the Interstate System mileage the extension of Interstate I-95, from Miami southward to Key West, and to give priority to said item in making its request to the Bureau of Public Roads for the extension of said project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby directed to furnish certified copies of this Reso- lution to the State Road Department and to the Honorable Dante B. Fascell, Congressman of the 4th District of the State of Florida. Dated November 22nd, 1966.
