Resolution 001-1967 RESOL UTION NO. 1 -1967 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida desires to obtain the hereinafter described bay bottom lands, with- out advertising, for use in connection with the construction of a Secondary Road Project, and deems the acquisition of said lands to be in the intert!sts of public need, and WHEREAS, said bay bottom lands are owned by the State of Florida, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Trustees of the Internal Improve- ment Fund of the State of Florida be, and they are hereby requested to deed to Monroe County, Florida, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, the following described bay bottom lands, for public purposes in connection with the construction of a Secondary Road Project in said County: A parcel of submerged land adjacent to Spanish Harbor Keys m Florida Bay in part of Government Lot 1, Section 32, Township 66 South, Range 30 East and in part of Government Lot 1, Sec- tion 33, Township 66 South, Range 30 East, Monroe County, Florida. Being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: Commence on the centerline of U. S. Highway No. 1 at the end of the west abutment of the Bahia Honda Bridge; thence proceed N87047rW along the centerline extended, of U. S. Highway No. 1 a distance of 641. 00 feet; thence proceed S6l 0 531 W along the centerline extended, of U. S. Highway No. 1 a distance of 2249. 15 feet; thence proceed N28 0 07 rw for a distance of 500 feet, more or less, to a point on the mean high tide line on the shore of Spanish Harbor Keys, said point being the Point of Beginning of the sub- merged land hereinafter described; from said Point of Beginning thence continue N280071W for a distance of 660 feet more or less to the south line of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers proposed channel; thence proceed N6l 0 53'E along said south line of proposed channel for a distance of 1800. 00 feet; thence proceed S280 07'E for a distance of 850 feet, more or less, to a point on the mean high tide line of Spanish Harbor Keys; thence traverse along said mean high tide line according to the following meander lines, N77007rW for a distance of 95 feet, more or less; S50 53'W for a distance of 270 feet, more or less; S6l 0 53 rw for a distance of 750 feet, more or Ie s s; N8 70 071W for a distance of 250 feet, more or Ie s s; S9053rW for a distance of 190 feet, more or less; S670531W for a distance of 265 feet, more or less; N590451W for a distance of 425 feet, more or less, to the Point of Beginning, containing 39.5 acres more or less BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to furnish a certified copy of this Resolution to said Trustees for appropriate action.
