MON~@~R~01JNlm t(f~ORIDA, REQUESTING THE MONROE COUNTY
TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO ALLOCATE TOURIST
DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLEANING AND
MAINTAINING MONROE COUNTY BEACHES.
WHEREAS, the beaches in Monroe County are a distinct tourist
attraction which bring tourist to the County; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County recognizes the importance of properly
maintained beaches; and
WHEREAS, Florida Statutes Section 125.0104(5)(a)4 authorizes
the use of Tourist Development funds, "To finance beach
improvement, maintenance, renourishment, restoration, and erosion
control, including shoreline protection, enhancement, cleanup
."; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board hereby requests the Monroe
County Tourist Development Council to allocate Tourist
Development funds for the purpose of cleaning and properly
maintaining the beaches in Monroe County as authorized by F. S.
125.0104.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a special meeting of the Board held on
the 22nd day of July , 1993.
