Resolution 017-1967RESOLUTION NO. 17 -1967 WHEREAS, there have been introduced in the 1967 session of the Florida Legislature House Bills #287, #290, . #404 and #411, which would remove the authority of sanitation and health inspections of food services from the Health Department and place the authority of these services with the Hotel and Restaurant Commission, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida feels that due to the trained staff of the State Board of Health and local County Health Units, the said State Board of Health and its agencies are better equipped to furnish such health inspections of food services, and that under the present set-up it is in the best interest and welfare of the citizens of Monroe County, Florida not to make any changes concerning such inspections, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA that said Board hereby goes on record as opposing the passage of said House Bills #287, #290, 0404 and #411, re- moving the authority of sanitation and health inspections of food services from the Health Department and placing the authority of these services with the Hotel and Restaurant Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this Resolution to the Senators and Representatives representing Monroe County, Florida in the Florida Legislature.
