Resolution 030-1967 RESOLUTION NO. 30 -1967 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida deems it necessary to have legislation enacted concerning ad valorem taxes in Monroe County, Florida, and WHEREAS, a committee appointed by said Board has recommended that a constitutional amendment be passed concerning ad valorem taxes in Monroe County, Florida, and WHEREAS, said Board desires to recommend to the legislators re- presenting Monroe County, Florida in the State Legislature that said pro- posed constitutional amendment be passed, and placed upon the ballot in the general election to be held in November, 1968, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA that said Board has no objection to the legislators representing Monroe County, Florida in the State Legislature passing the proposed constitutional amendment relating to ad valorem taxes in Monroe County, Florida, to be placed upon the ballot in the general elec- tion to be held in November, 1968, provided that there is a provision in said proposed amendment that in the event said amendment becomes a part of the Constitution by being ratified in said general election to be held in 1968, the registered voters of Monroe County, Florida must further ratify same at a special referendum election to be held for said purpose in Mon- roe County, Florida, before said amendment becomes effective. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to furnish certified copies of this Resolution to the Senators and Representatives representing Monroe County, Florida in the State Legislature, for appropriate action.
