WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of County Com-
missioners of Monroe County, Florida that Fish and Wildlife Service,
Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, is interested in obtaining title to
certain State-owned lands in Monroe County, Florida, as hereinafter de-
scribed, and
WHEREAS, said Board desires to request Representative Dante B.
Fascell to confer with William C. Ashe, Acting Regional Supervisor, Di-
vision of Realty, of said Fish and Wildlife Service, and assist in obtaining
title to said lands from the State of Florida, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Honorable Dante B. Fascell be,
and he is hereby requested to, confer with William C. Ashe, Acting Regional
Supervisor, Division of Realty, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Sport
Fisheries and Wildlife, Peachtree Seventh Building, Atlanta, Georgia, and
assist in obtaining title from the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund
of the State of Florida to the following described lands in Monroe County,
Florida, to -wit:
A parcel of land adjacent and contiguous to the Easterly right
of way line of State Road No. 5 on Barnes Sound in Sections 22
and 27, Township 60 South, Range 39 East at Cross Key, Mon-
roe County, Florida, being more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Section line between said
Sections 22 and 27 with the Easterly Right of Way line of State
Road No. 5, thence proceed Southeasterly along said Right of
Way line 2430 feet more or less to the point where the Mean High
Tide Line of Barnes Sound on Cross Key crosses said Easterly
Right of Way line; thence meander said Mean High Tide Line in
a Northwesterly direction for a distance of 2450 feet more or less
to a point where said Mean High Tide Line crosses said Easterly
Right of Way line; thence proceed Southeasterly along said Easter-
ly Right of Way Line 170 feet more or less to the Point of Beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to forward certified copies
of this Resolution to the Honorable Dante B. Fascell and to the said William
C. Ashe, for appropriate action.
