Since 1992, Captain Mick has been instrumental in getting thousands of disabled persons out on the water. Employing both large 50 passenger catamarans and smaller 6 passenger pontoon boats he has pioneered techniques for persons with physical disabilities to enjoy the natural wonders of our South Florida waters. His boats are additionally equipped with platform or chair lifts. Working with the Florida Disabled Divers and Shake-a-leg organizations he has enabled many of his passengers to get not only on the water, but into it. A Key Largo resident, he is also an active board member of the Centers For Independent Living of the Florida Keys. On behalf of the disabled citizens of the Florida Keys, this plaque is presented to Capt. Mick Nealey with sincere gratitude for his dedicated service and innovative leadership.
