RESOLUTION NO. 37_1979
RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE MARATHON
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, on February 12, 1979, a serious fire resulted at
the Sea Horse Motel in Marathon due to the exploding of a gas
bottle, and
WHEREAS, due to the quick action and professional handling
of the situation the damages to both property and human lives
was minimized, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The Board does publicly recognize and goes on record
commending the effort and dedication shown by the Marathon
Volunteer Fire Department and all its personnel for a job well
done in controlling and extinguishing the fire which occurred
on February 12, 1979, at the Sea Horse Motel at Marathon, Florida.
(2) The Clerk of the Board shall forward a certified copy
of this resolution immediately upon its execution to the Marathon
Volunteer Fire Department.
