RESOLUTION NO. 177-1979
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AND APPOINTING THE MEMBERS
OF THE MONROE COUNTY'S TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
AND INDICATING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNTY TO CON-
SIDER THE ENACTMENT OF AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AND
IMPOSING THE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT TAX AS REQUIRED
BY FLORIDA STATUTE 125.0104(4) (b).
WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute 125.0104(4)(b), the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County is required, at
least 60 days prior to the enactment of an ordinance levying
a Tourist Development Tax, to adopt a resolution establishing
and appointing the members of Monroe County's Tourist Develop-
ment Council as set forth in said statute and indicating the
intention of the County to consider the enactment of an ordi-
nance levying and imposing the Tourist Development Tax, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners does intend
to consider an ordinance as previously set forth, now, there-
fore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners does hereby
indicate its intention to consider the enactment of an ordinance
levying and imposing the Tourist Development Tax.
2. That pursuant to Florida Statute Section 125.0104(4)(b)
the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County does hereby
establish an advisory council to be known as the "Monroe County
Tourist Development Council".
3. That pursuant to Florida Statute Section 125.0104(4)(b)
the Board of County Commissioners does hereby appoint the
following members to the "Monroe County Tourist Development
Council" as follows:

4. The Council shall have the power and authority to elect
among their members a vice-chairman and secretary and such other
officers as they deem advisable and shall operate under Roberts
Rules of Order as amended.
5. The Council shall have the further power, duties and
responsibilities as set forth in Florida Statute Section
125.0104.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
MONroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 14th
day of August
