RESOLUTION NO.2l5 -1979
RESOLUTION REQUESTING ASSISTANCE AND ADDITIONAL
FUEL ALLOCATION FOR THE COMMERCIAL AND SPORT
FISHING INDUSTRY IN AND FOR MONROE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, has been advised that the local Chevron
agency's fuel allocation has been reduced, and
WHEREAS, such reduction will adversely affect the
economy in and for Monroe County in regards to its commercial
and sport fishing activities, and
WHEREAS, the commercial and sport fishing industry in
and for Monroe County is a vital concern, and
WHEREAS, such reduction of fuel allocation will adversely
affect the lives of all the citizens of Monroe County, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That the Board does hereby request that the appro-
priate State and Federal agencies take immediate action to
provide for additional fuel allocations in and for Monroe
County to support its commercial and sport fishing industry,
and further, request that such action be taken immediately
in order to assure and minimize any adverse affect on the
citizens of Monroe County.
2. That the Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to
forward copies of this resolution to the State and Federal
Fuel Allocation Officer in and for Monroe County, and further,
that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the local
Chevron agency in support of its request for additional fuel
allocation to assure continued commercial and sport fishing
as has previously existed.
